This term in my scripture class we’re learning how to find things in the Bible. Last week we looked at the contents page and learned about finding references. This week we’ll be trying to memorise the books of the New Testament in order, and I think I’ve got a great scheme.
I’ve got a bag of Smarties, and if the kids get the order right (with no mistakes) they can have a smartie. But if they attempt it, and make a mistake – they not only forfeit the smartie – but the smartie goes to me! Sweet. Should motivate them to get it exactly right, and allow me to snack my way through the class at the same time!
How are you going to get them to learn it Sam, any good ideas??
Hey Nixter, your photo is very ‘myspace’!
We’re learning the books over a few weeks. Today the challenge was to remember as many NT books as they could. One by one they were allowed to write the name of a book on an individual piece of paper. Once we got all the books on pieces of paper, as a group we put the pieces of paper in order.
This week their homework is to learn it in their own time, and come back again to compete for smarties next week!
LOL Is it?? I didn’t know, been messing with my mac. I sit there for ages, with two heads, dent head funny pictures left and right – I love it. Fun Fun Fun. I noticed I look like Fergie when I do some of the funky pics = not good and definately not myspace.
That’s a cool idea – I mean if smaerties are on offer I would for sure do it
Let us know how they go. Thanks for the top tips.
In what sense do you look like fergie?
I can’t stop singing fergalicious lately, which is regularly so innappropriate!
