Less carbs at night, with at least two carb-free meals in the evening.
More healthy snacks around the house. At the moment, I don’t buy any snacks which means we end up famished by dinner time. But pre-packaged foods like museli bars and the like are expensive (if you add the cost up) and not that [...]

Last Sunday marked eight weeks at our new church, South West Chinese Christian Church, Kingsgrove. Overall, it’s been such a positive experience. A few reflections to mark the occasion:
1. We love churching with people of all ages. Our Biblestudy consists of one family (parents, teenage kids), young couples and twenty-something singles, international students, middle aged couples [...]

Currently we’re watching season seven of  24. Loving it. We’ve now got a new ‘marrickville’ 24 party up and running, watching the episodes on Thursday nights. Good fun.
I’ve missed watching 24. The last time it was on television was in 2006. I blogged on my excitement about the series here. Apparently some dude called Ched [...]

Not the biggest dilemma, mind you. On the scale of dilemmas, 10 being an actual life crisis, I would say this would rank at about a 0.2
But still.
Sam is going away on college mission next week for eight days, and I have a few logistics to sort out. Marrickville is not the safest suburb [...]

We have five essays due throughout the course of second year at College, three that I’m hoping to start work on pretty soon. This afternoon I sat down with the list of questions for these first three, prayed about what God would have me research, and then thought about what topics interested me and [...]

Everything, it seems.
Until I got married in 2007, I’d always assumed my name was, well, what it was. But when I filled in the forms for my marriage documents, I discovered that on my birth certificate and passport (which by then had expired), my father had named me by my chinese name, not my real name.
This discrepancy is [...]

I mentioned before that I was really impressed with the cafe scene in Melbourne. We visited both Brother Baba Budan and St Ali. Both were really good. Unlike anywhere I’ve been in Sydney (and that’s pretty much everywhere) they both nailed the whole package – the fitout, the ambience, the staff, the music, the ’show’, [...]

A few thoughts. No real order.
1. Trams are great. Sydney never should have removed them.
2. There aren’t as many skycrapers in the CBD. The city feels brighter.
3. Everyone is generally better dressed than Sydney. And women don’t seem to need to be ‘booby’ to look stylish.
4.The cafe scene is streets ahead of Sydney. The [...]

I don’t have a blogroll. Sam and I read different blogs, and there are very few people these days who I read regularly.
But I thought I’d link to the blogs I think are extra special. Just to spread the love. In no particular order:
Ben’s blog. Funny. Encouraging. Awesome.
Sophie’s blog. Creative. Inspired. Whimsical.
Bonnie’s blog. Beautiful. Genuine. Funky.
Craig’s [...]
