Posts on Leadership

Steve is posting some interesting stuff on leading communities and some of the traps some Christian leaders fall into in their thinking about, speaking about and their attitudes towards Christian communities. He’s written three posts so far: Here, here, and here. I think he shows a lot of insight, particularly on the concept of ‘primary Christian community’.

Countless times I’ve been told how important it is to have college as your ‘primary Christian community’, with the old adage that ‘no-one at your local church will understand what you have to go through as a full-time gospel minister’. I’m not convinced.

In fact we’ve tried to do just the opposite – to make our local church our primary community, for precisely some of the reasons Steve outlines. Go have a read – what do you think?
