I can’t wait to:
wear a skirt without tights or boots
have a picnic
eat fresh salads instead of slow cooked meals
take the little man to the beach
eat dinner in our courtyard
wander around the markets on a Saturday
eat gelato at the park
not have to put three layers on the little man and fiddle with shoes and socks every time we go outside.
Some links for your weekend pleasure:
1. You may know I’m a huge fan of giving babies non-toys to play with. Over here Laika Bloom beautifully documents her baby’s favourite things (notice the Eric Carle books? It must be universal).
2. Lately I’ve been frequenting The Pie Tin, a relatively new pie cafe in Newtown. Their sweet tarts come in huge servings and are so dreamy, especially the pineapple and ricotta pie (which tastes like Streets’ Pine Lime Splice – I’m not kidding).
3. I love reading Molly Lambert’s pieces on Hollywood celebrities (okay, I generally love reading anything about celebrities; this just gets bonus marks because it is clever and well-written). Here’s a recent article on Julia Roberts, the non-airbrushed version. A snippet:
“As streetwalker-with-a-heart-of-gold Vivian, in Pretty Woman, Julia Roberts doesn’t have a pimp because she doesn’t need a pimp. She is her own pimp. The movie industry couldn’t pimp Julia Roberts because she knows what her talent is actually worth. Without her participation they would not have anything to sell, and she knows they care more about making money than anything. She knows that she is impossible to replace.”
4.Does a child’s personality affect their manners? Karen at Journey Mercies writes a thoughtful post on teaching your children how to say ‘please’, ‘thank you’ and so much more.
Have a gorgeous weekend!

Spring is my favourite season! I love watching trees start to blossom again & the gorgeous sunshine. I’m looking forward to being able to read a book outdoors in the sunshine again.
