About

The Fountainside is where Sam and Soph post their thoughts about God, culture, people and all the things in between that make life amusing and enjoyable. This blog is not a place for argumentative theological debate, although there are lots posts on the things of God. It’s not a diary of our lives, although there are posts about that too. We hope you’ll find something here that will make you smile, think harder or look at things in a new way. A bit about us, for those who are interested. Sam grew up in the north-west Sydney suburb of Carlingford and became a Christian at age sixteen. Little did he know that his future wife was living a few streets away.

We met in 2004 while working in the same café and become “Sam and Soph” three years later. These days, Sam studies the Bible at Moore Theological College in Newtown and Soph works as a journalist – not the kind that writes about serious stuff, but the kind that writes about TV and advertising. Our interests are pretty obvious from our blog – art, coffee, movies, good books, family and friends. Mainly, we’re on about Jesus. Thanks for reading!
